April 13-15, 2007: Raven, and the Light That Fell Into Day – On Dreams, Innerwork and the Wisdom Body
The Alsea House, Waldport, Oregon
To the Haida Gwaii, Raven represents the mysterious vitality of transformation and the on-going play between the Creator and his world. In this weekend intensive, woven around the legend of the hero and trickster, we will explore the importance of these archetypes, and why the role of trickster-creator is key to feminine consciousness.
Through individual therapy, group exercises, journal, meditation and play, we will explore the body-soul and its instinctive wisdom, the dream as a door to the creative life, and the collective wisdom of the group as a vessel for transformation.
July 20-22, 2007: The Sunrise Ruby: The Four Steps to Conscious Loving – An Individual and Couples Retreat The Alsea House, Waldport, Oregon
In Navajo tradition, the first breath of each new day, if we take it consciously, is full of promise. Each day, no matter what it brings, offers us a choice--to recycle the past, or choose the grace of the present moment. Conscious loving is about listening to the heart, making creative choices, setting clear boundaries; it means giving and receiving love lavishly, and from the soul.
Recognizing the love and potential that is available to us in each moment, and finding ways to grow and prosper it in our life, work, and relationships, is the focus of this retreat. Through individual work, group exercises, and ritual, we will practice “first breath.”
This weekend workshop is open to individuals and couples, and anyone interested in relationship work--whether between partners, family, friends, colleagues, or ones self and the Holy.
September 14-16: The Feminine Face of God: A Women’s Retreat in the Desert
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Based on the lives of female saints, mystics, and luminaries past and present, we will explore the historical beginnings of feminine spirituality, its significant women East and West, and their story from Sappho (7th c. B.C.E.), St. Catherine of Siena, and Mirabai in the middle-ages, to Dorothy Day, and Ammachi in the present.
Participants are invited to bring an image, icon, photo, or story of the woman who has most touched their spirit practice. There will ample time over the weekend to join in creative ritual that celebrates the feminine spirit. Please also bring a percussion instrument and a journal, and any poetry, art or story related to your own spiritual journey.
Suggested Reading: Enduring Grace, Carol Flinders, Women of Power and Grace, Timothy Conway (Wake-up Press, Santa Barbara).
Starting October 31, 2007: A Jungian-Senoi Approach to Dreams and Dreaming: A fireside discussion on the power of dreams, their meaning and message.
The Alsea House, Waldport, Oregon
A five-week, Wednesday-night series: October 31st to November 28th from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Soup and bread welcome at 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday. Overnight lodging is available for guests traveling from out of town.
Throughout history, the dream has been a guide in our quest for knowledge. Called by some “the forgotten language of the soul”, the dream can be a light in the dark, a hint of blessing and direction; and it can be a warning, a visit from the shadow, and a zen master’s clout if we need it. Dreams offer both solace and challenge, yet either way they will stir up and act out what we forget to see consciously. They are the Angelos, messengers of the inner world of Spirit that vie for our attention.
In this series we will actively work with our dreams in dialogue, journal, role-play, imagery, and active imagination. Some optional reading: Inner Work, Robert Johnson, The Kingdom Within, John Sanford, The Pregnant Virgin, Marion Woodman.
Please write or call for information and interview. For the dream series, contact Creative Process Workshops: P.O. Box 2248, Waldport, Oregon 97394, or call (541) 961-0699. Space is limited.
